i mean chuck passed away when i was like 9, in terms of life impact they both hit separate categories. death was like the first death metal band i'd given a full discography run and i probably wouldn'tve checked out DS if i hadn't gotten into stuff like human/itp. thaan with defeated it's just like i have a lot of memories tied to my longtime friends/different periods of my life, we all loved death but we'd already seen the full picture whereas defeated it felt more like an active following/development.
but yeah i think psalms is a perfectly valid top 5 pick for anyone that loves death metal
