You and me both.



Very few bands have ventured down that path period, and an even smaller number than that already small number have approached it like that.



I could give recs, but they wouldn't necessarily be like AVL and would moreso be based upon adherence to post-leanings.

I also enjoy Fall of Minerva and Trenches. They are both considered mxc/post metal mixes.



Trenches is probs more on the post metal side, tho, but it's still awesome and has a great atmosphere. Maybe one of these days they will release the album they said they have been working on for like 6 years.
