Older albums really do sound better on a turntable tho. Listening to a digital copy of a slade just gives me a headache but putting on that vinyl I'll be damned if the house isn't shaking

For a lot of newer albums yes it's pointless but some stuff does sound better

I mean if my king crimson vinyl sounds any better than my digital copy you'll probably see my rating bump to a 5

@Friday, yeah I know you study the law, same for SirLord I think. You guys are brave. It doesn't look easy. My son is studying to become a policeman, and he's going through some courses that are related to the law. He seems to have fun with it, but it must not be that easy. There's a lot of by-heart stuff, isn't it?

''live KC isn't that awesome tho''

Where did you get that idea, SirLord?

from the 4-5 live albums by them I've checked, plus I've never been that attracted to their setlists

I guess you heard The Night Watch and The Great Deceiver and stuff...I think most of their live stuff contain improvs over improvs and that doesnt help. Have you tried Live in USA (1975)? Set-list is pretty much perfect and it's an enjoyable listening.

Personally, I only keep a fantastic memory of their Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair tours. Tony Levin, Adrian Belew, Bill Bruford and Robert Fripp at their best. I've experimented impressive live shows through that series, always with a great set-list...just not as generous as I was hoping regarding the older material.

And more recently, I've seen Live in Japan (I think it's a bootleg for Thrak) with the same line-up and I pretty much liked that set-list too. I for one enjoyed what I've heard from their live performances to date.

USA is probably the best one from the one's I've checked though I think it could really use more Red songs and I really miss the sax on Starless

jethro, strangely enough that wasn't the case on their most recent tour. they played lark's tongue in aspect, and the segments where there are barely any sounds, they filled up with actual stuff

what was unfortunate for their live stuff is that because they have 3 drummers, they drown out a lot of the guitar and bass at times. especially the main riff in red

Oh shit I don't have USA in my computer anymore. Just its sleeve pictures left. Oh well...And KC is no match found on Spotify, on you tube, Bandcamp or the likes... We need to illegally download their stuff to get passed the copyrights, too bad.
