im 100% positive this invented slowcore, midwest emo, skramz, probs other stuff but basically an entire wave of post-hardcore kids brooding even harder than ever

hyper-personal and poetic lyrics, giant dynamic contrasts, mix of clean/distorted guitars, overall bleak aesthetic, (occasional) vocals that sound like the vocalist is trying to shred his throat on purpose
the overall product doesn't skram but all the key elements are there so id say this is like proto-skramz
