I wouldn't expect Washington's defense to improve to quickly either, their roster is gutted.

seattle hiring mike mcdonald, now that's fun. no idea how he'll do but similarly seems the ravens defense will also be weaker next year. them hiring dan quinn seemed like a no brainer but i think they're better off with mcdonald. feel like if you're gonna hire a defensive guy as your head coach you always gotta hire young, seems to work out much better historically (brandon staley aside).

lamar deserves a good amount of blame for the ravens loss (not taking green grass runs, missing deep shots, the hero ball pick at the end) but the main reason is the dogshit offensive gameplan. 82% dropbacks - the highest of lamar's career - and 63% of the time in 11 personnel. we've been a base personnel team all year. our RBs had 6 runs. chiefs blitzed like 50% of the time yet we had barely any quick throws.

the team as a whole shit itself going down 10 (as if we were down 24) but the coaching malpractice was unreal

The run game decisions were certainly interesting towards the end of the year - abandoning Edwards as RB1 after he was cooking and then just abandoning the run in general vs the Chiefs. Lamar is very talented and can carry the team if he can eliminate his own pitfalls.



What do they target in the draft though, WR? OL?

yeah both. zay is a stud but OBJ was a rental to get lamar to sign he's not worth what it would cost for a longer deal. and bateman idk can't figure that dude out. a taller strong-arm, go-up-and-get-it kinda guy would do a lot for the receiving corp

the defense will lose quite a few pieces but the ravens will always find good defensive players in the 3rd-4th rd and i'm of the opinion if you're paying big bucks for a QB you need to surround him with as much OL and receiving talent as possible (mahomes excluded). only gets more true as lamar's cap hit grows

I agree. It’s just such a weird look for them that a guy as bad as kliff would drop out. Not sure if there’s any talent left out there but we sure do need it. I think the qb room and our spot in the draft is scaring folks away.
