Suicide Season is just alright (a 3 for me) but is better than this.
Title track off SS is one of their best songs.
TIAH is great and contains their absolute best song (Crucify Me), but Sempiternal is without question and will always be their best album. Hard 4.5, while TIAH is a 3.5. This and SS 3s, CYB a 2-2.5.

I mean from a topical standpoint suicide season has garbage lyrics about 80% of the time about partying and getting hammered and this has well thought out and genuinely heartfelt lyrics with some nice atmospheric melodies rather than being generic metalcore/deathcore majority of the time. I like SS but it's just not as interesting by comparison. Hate on the switch to a mainstream approach, but in reality this is definitely more mature than SS.
