I wouldn't put it past a7x ripping off a superior band but the only thing that makes me doubt it is that they'd have to had actually heard this first.

Idk I just never noticed before, I always thought that riff sounded similar to something but it kind of just hit me which song it was haha

Doesn't really matter, I might be in the minority but I actually like that song/album.

Don't see the love for this. It starts out like 'Hell yeah, Death!' and just slowly loses steam. Pretty homogenous. Didn't know until I watched the Death By Metal doc that Chuck basically just wrote/released this so the label would put out Control Denied. But maybe that's what has been missing for me; lack of spirit or something? I could never quite put my finger on what's off here for me.

There are demos from the beginning of the '90s that sound tighter and more inventive than this album.

Thought it was plenty tight, but it kind of feels like Death by the numbers.

It's not just that it's by the numbers, but it's all over the place writing-wise and meanders constantly. Spirit Crusher is one of the worst examples of this so why it gets praised is beyond me.

y'all just need to open your hearts to poor (or in some cases non-existent) transitions between completely unrelated parts. I thought you guys progged, but apparently not.

That'd even be fine if so many of the actual parts weren't lame.
