The only similarities there are between CI and MM are the same ones that every Dillinger album has. What the hell do you mean by "makes less sense," if you don't like a little experimentation that gives the music a fuller, more diverse sound, then why are you listening to Dillinger lol. Don't get me wrong, I love CI too, but MM is way better paced. CI just feels like a fucking tornado sometimes, whereas MM actually lets you breathe

I get what jac is saying brick. MM is disjonted as fuck and I could easily see how the 'experimental' tracks could feel wedged in there for the sake of being 'experimental' for some people.
Also, MM is an identity crisis of an album in all honesty. It never fully decides what it wants to be...partly the reason why I love it so much cos of that all over the place 'lets have a seizure' vibe.

but that's what i'm saying... how is what they did on MM any different than IW or OP or this, for that matter? i mean yeah, all the songs are totally distinct, it's not like they do literally the same shit over and over, but they do have a formula i'm pretty sure everyone here's pretty familiar with. a bunch of straight-up metalcore songs, some big epics with clean choruses, and one or two electronicish interludes. that doesn't cover it all, but most of it

Alright, I understand where you're coming from a bit more now. I definitely agree about OP; it's the one Dillinger album I've 5'd. I love MM, but OP is indeed a lot more coherent
MM being an "identity crisis" album makes a shitload of sense actually, I guess I just never really thought about it like that before haha

op >>> this
the production on this sounds fairly shitty, but i blame sumerian for that. also, this album is severely lacking in riffs/actual time signature wizardry. this is prob dep's worst or 2nd worst album (MM is lame too)
hell, here's my ranking:
ci>op>iw>not listening to dep any more
