"Would you rather see Star Wars in the Chinese Theater in Hollywood or pop in a blu-ray with 5.1 surround sound?"

The 2nd one honestly, the 1st one sounds like I'm just getting ripped off

sure but you should understand anyways. You don't get any satisfaction thinking "this is how people heard it for the first time in 1969"?

i like holding the vinyl and look at it play, but ultimately it's not worth the price of a turntable + vinyl

in late 2014/early 2015 i was into vinyl, but ultimately gave it up. it was more expensive and more inconvenient than mp3

imo yes. i think that the whole vinyl sounds better is pure gimmick and nostalgia

depends entirely on the master: vinyl is 'better' because it can only go so loud. bypasses all the loudness practices which are often present even on rereleases of old records

I totally agree, smaug. You'd have to have ridiculously good equipment and a mint condition vinyl for it to sound as good as most digital records. New vinyls are pretty pointless. Some old analog recordings are poorly transfered, though. Still, sound quality is irrelevant to the satisfaction of getting to experience a part of history for yourself.

i actually got a collection of like maybe 30-40 vinyl albums beside me, but a component that transfers electricity to the enhancer or whatever it's called is broken
