The Funeral Portrait seems to get no love here, which is a shame. For me the ranking goes
Blackwater Park > The Leper Affinity > The Drapery Falls > The Funeral Portrait > Bleak > Dirge for November > Harvest > Patters in the Ivy

funeral portrait is awesome, but i think dirge is the real under appreciated one here. 5:49 to the end is my favorite soft section by Opeth.

dirge is amazing yea

See with Dirge I like it sometimes but other times it does nothing for me. I seem to be one of the only ones who doesn't actually like the soft section at the end, it bores me.

| |
the soft section wasn't created for your enjoyment so that's a natural statement

"i'd give the edge to the moor"
i can see why. the moor's opening is simply terrifying, that's probably the song they play while you're waiting in line to enter Hell. I like Still Life better as an album but Leper Affinity just gets me with its outro.

Idk The Leper Affinity wins it for me, apart from the intro where I have to have it quiet because I'm a pussy and it makes me jump every time
|

The Moor is one of their best efforts for sure
