Morningrise to BWP is their most consistent streak, but Watershed and GR are both among their best

That's their six best, then Orchid is probably 7th, then their three prog rock ones with Deliverance, none are below a 3.7

Orchid is easily top 4 for me. I dont think its much weaker than Morningrise

I haven't listened to MR and Orchid enough but yeah, I don't see the other albums like Deliverance beating them

Orchid isn't not much weaker than MR, I love both but I just find the songwriting in their next few better. Plus the music

gets proggier and his singing and growling improves a lot with the next few

There's also a sense of direction like they're actually going somewhere. Ok, it worked on Watershed but it didn't on the double Ds

The double D's went nowhere and dragged big time despite all the strong moments they have

Damnation gets unreal praise in contrast to Heritage when in reality they're both at the same level. Damnation just has a nicer atmosphere

Yeah, the bad parts mostly. I love SW, but it's just mellotron, mellotron and boringness

[3] I might like heritage more overall, even if windowpane is better than anything on deliverance, heritage, or the rest of damnation

Couldn't agree more. Without Windowpane, Damnation would be a 2.5 probably

Death Whispered a Lullaby was pretty good when I first heard it, but like most of the album, it lacks any genuine replay value

Damnation is perfect when you're in the right mood, and imo it is rarely generic, I just love the whole bleakness of it, more than on BWP personally. But yeah, Heritage and this are on the same level for me, which is actually a solid 4.5 level

Damnation and Heritage are both great, but they're not on this level.
