as much as i enjoy this album, you can tell they were quite young by how awkward much of the songwriting is.

not gonna digging for them cos I'm a lazy pos, but the older I get the more I hear the gaps in this thing. Awkward movements between clean acoustics and black metal sections, progressions with spoiled momentum, etc. etc. Really, what I hear is some young dudes trying their damnedest to convey ideas and sounds and emotions to the best of their abilities and biting off a bit more than they can chew but still coming out on top for the most part.

I do really enjoy this album, but imo its not anywhere close to their best bm-inspired album lol

@evok: I see your point, but I think that is what makes certain albums very charming. that certain quality of wabi-sabi.

I guess i just prefer some flaws over others i guess. Some pull me out of the music and some pull me in lol. Doesnt change the fact this album has a lot of magical moments tho.

I'm relieved to not be aware of those youngling flaws. Whereas for example on Satyricon's first it is obvious that it's made by teenagers.
