Yeah it is a more cohesive album but I don't know man..."Into The Void" is like their best tune ever. Paranoid doesn't have that. I also dig the more dowtuned sound here a little more than Paranoid. Either way, they're pure metal classics.

I feel this one more badass and downtuned than Paranoid. Even the beautiful&acoustic sections are more beautiful tbh. Both really cool though

Good point Dom. Iommi had began experimenting with downtuning before the recordings of this album, both in studio and when playing live. He didn't decide to downtune that much until this album though.

Actually, I don't know how many of you are aware of the fact that some cuts from s/t and Paranoid are not in "complete" standard tuning, but somewhere in between standard tunings. For example, Warning, and Sleeping Village sound approximately 1/4 step flat.

no, it's the guitars, I have played the albums myself and what I found out is that standard tuning doesn't sound close enough



if you have a guitar, try it out yourself and you will see that standard tuning won't match, so you have to tune according to what you hear on the cd
