I found myself in the crowd headbanging in the new tour doc m/
Also how you gonna make a doc for the hail stan tour and just completely ignore Mark not being their for like 2/3s of the shows. Literally every live shot they showed except the one from the Spencer-sick date was one from the early dates with Mark lol. Was worse than the Mcgwire/Sosa 30 for 30 where they only talked about steroids for like 30 seconds

They showed shows without Mark in the second half of the doc... they even mention that he was absent, but Jake skimmed over it very swiftly

The only song on this album that doesn't matter is "Follow Your Ghost". The rest rules.

I get why they don't but it still feels weird. I wish the dude would just come forward and acknowledge it was fucked up.

I dig Follow Your Ghost. Church Burner is a probably on the bottom of my ranking. I get the need to listen to this now lol

His personal life is not really anyone else's business though.

Well to be fair, because of his actions... it effected all the fans that planned on going to their tour by Covet dropping off

Private matters might affect fans, sure. A musician might have to cancel a tour because they're going through a divorce or has a kid fighting cancer, but they're private matters and fans aren't owed explanations.

Wasn’t just as simple as that... members from each band were fooling around with each other while on tour. If Covet didn’t go on tour with them, it wouldn’t have happened.

I meant that more in a "okay, Mark isn't here for controversial reason... this is what it was like touring without him, this is what Misha and Jake did differently to compensate etc" more so than Mark apologizing or some shit... but they didn't even do that... yet they spent like 1/3 of the doc talking about the (single) home town show Spencer was too sick to perform at.
And also yeah it was painfully ironic how much the plini guys were a part of the doc just knowing what went down with Covet.
Cool doc on the surface but it was terribly misleading. I get Periphery is a business above all and that their personal lives are none of our business... but it's just such a weird look to continue pretending like it never happened after how publicized the whole situation was... especially when their guy was so obviously in the wrong.
They aren't just refusing to talk about it, they are actively trying to cover it up now, and that just doesn't sit well with me.

Agreed. They shouldn’t have even bothered putting out this “tour doc” and avoid the whole thing if they want to ignore the mess that happened.

Certainly an elephant in the room type situation

I don't think the band was pretending it didn't happen so much as don't care to talk about it. It was a personal matter that went from private to messily public. At this point pretty much everyone knows what happened, so what is the need for the band to deal with an awkward topic that they don't want to talk about that everyone already knows all the relevant details of anyway?

Idk why anyone would think they would bring that situation up in the doc. It was clearly a feelgood thing.

"so what is the need for the band to deal with an awkward topic that they don't want to talk about that everyone already knows all the relevant details of anyway?"
Uhh... maybe don't put out a "documentary" about a tour that was probably the darkest and most ugly point of your career in which one your members essentially gaslighted a supporting act off the tour if you're just gonna completely pretend everything was perfect and amazing? Like they didn't have to put this out lmao
Again, I really don't care if they don't want to talk about it... but don't try to blatantly cover it up too, which is 100% what that documentary attempts to do by minimizing Mark's absence to basically one show visually, having Mark's commentary so prevalent, and taking so little time to talk about Mark's absence that I have no recollection of it being brought up at all (though I believe Tundra).
