they're actually quite different. i suppose some see this as more dm than symbolic.

Yeah I meant close in terms of greatness not sound.

I slightly prefer the way that this is more to the point than Symbolic and I much prefer Reinert's drumming to Hoglan's. Symbolic has better lyrics though.

obviously not, i love symbolic. the reason this one intrigues me is cause it has the immediacy (cant really say simplicity) of their osdm stuff but with the proggy elements of their later stuff

I think the lyrics are better on this

And symbolic has about as much in common with classic heavy metal/power metal and rush/prog as it does dm, this is dm within a free-fusion technical framework

I find the lyrics on Symbolic to be somewhat more thought provoking.

The lyrics are great on here too though.
