Terrible Love, Afraid Of Everyone, Bloodbuzz, Conversation 16, England and Vanderlyle (ohmygod) are all classic songs. That said, this doesn't have the consistency of Alligator or Boxer, and while the highs may be higher, as an album, it is just ever so slightly behind.

Album Rating: 4.5
Alligator is the only Classic The National imo

Nothing from this band has "blown me away" as such but all 4 good albums of theirs are excellent. No 5/5 tho. Too much inconsistency.
