'my country's taste in heavy music has been shit since like 2007'
lol for real, kerrang has had an incredibly strong and negative influence on the british publics taste
(as has the shitty rock shows on bbc radio 1)

yeah, kerrang is pure cancer

theyve spent the last 20 years fetishising pop punk and catering to the exact same demographic, its no wonder things feel so stagnant.
i turn on kerrangs music channel and its the same old sum 41, blink and paramore plus some other guff from the early 2000s.
im aware they used to cater to different scenes and were more of a metal publication but my god, that must have been 20+ years ago
alternative is not alternative and is a dire scene that allows morons who think theyre doing something inventive or brave or different to spew their facile rubbish
see yungblud, the epitome of shallow 'difference' or 'weirdness'.

“ alternative is not alternative”
Pretty much! Like, when it’s just as mainstream as all the other popular shit, it is the mainstream. And like you’ve pointed out, shit BEEN popular

Yeah Kerrang has been hot garbage for quite a while now. Most UK bands that have gotten big since I started listening to heavy/alternative music in general about 14 years ago have either sucked from the get go or started out promising and then had a quality nosedive. There are some exceptions of course (Loathe, Rolo Tomassi, Svalbard, Holding Absence and Funeral for a Friend) but on the whole the kind of stuff that gets hyped up in this country sucks so damn much.

I always have a soft spot for Kerrang magazine because they gave my band 4/5 for our gig at Camden Barfly but also worth noting that edition had Aiden as cover stars and a poster of Ian Watkins so yeah, they’ve always been trash 🤣

Eden Hazard's retirement really put things in perspective for me. I miss him already. I miss what he was, what he represented and the joy he brought to me and so many other fans. Needless to say this has breathed new life into what I can now only describe as an misunderstood gem, for I too, would love to be taken back to Eden
