Greg feels pretty good on MM too, but there is some inexperience showing, which on Option Paralysis is not a problem.

Well, it is mostly Mathcore (described here as Metalcore), it's equally legitimate to call it Hardcore i guess, Prog Rock does seem to apply to their latest work. But Experimental should be the tertiary genre imo. Anyway, it's fine this way

everything is prog rock these days. and no, experimental shouldn't even be considered.

Oh oops, it's prog metal there on the tags. We'll yeah it's fine that way. Anyway, i believe that Experimental should in fact be considered anyway. What's your take on that genre Cyg? If you consider it a genre. I do, but it's more of a miscellaneous genre in the end.

experimental is a more abstract genre. basically, since there is no more "other" genre, everything that was once "other" should now be "experimental" unless there is a tag for it. as deviant. said, the need for "other" is drastically reduced now that there are so many more specific electronic tags, but what's left is for experimental.

experimental should only be used for things that don't already have a correct tag or set of tags for them: such as krautrock, artpop, etc.

so far it's being thrown around with an band that deviates from the norm, but with thinking, I could easily exclaim that Panic! at the disco is "experimental"! they use violins, and synths, and shit that other pop punk bands never used, they must be experimental!!!

no, just no.

Good point. Yeah so, i tend to feel a big industrial vibe from these guys, would you think it's a

legitimate tag? They do these shady, distorted passages which seem pretty industrial influenced to me.

They also throw in some Electronic stuff, and Jazz Fusion stuff, even mix them together..

no problem calling this band prog metal esp when they made songs like mouth of ghosts widower nong eye gong horse hunter etc. as for experimental who gives a shit it doesnt even show up on the page and they are a lot more experimental than most metalcore anyway

Honestly it's close to a 5, just not too big on Chinese Whispers.

Yeah but it doesn't groove like their soft tracks or thrash like their hard ones, it's somewhere in between. Might 4.5 for now.
