Honestly really might be my number 1 and number 2 favorite songs ever by them. I was so shocked and happy when they busted out Higher when I saw them in the stage tour… i don’t think it’s likely they’ll play it again, it doesn’t seem popular with fans.

Still spinning this. Still has some of the best tracks avenged haved done so far. Period. The average rating here is indeed repulsive, lol. Lot of bold stuff in here, and generally they land better than many make it out to be. "Alice in chains this, Daft Punk that..", whatever man some albums are great for the variety they bring

I really liked this when it first released but it's definitely a bit rough to come back to. Mattel and Nobody kinda suck to be honest, but then you have Cosmic and Beautiful Morning which are two of the best songs the band have ever released. Also really like the "GOD" suite (if you can call it that). A bit of a mixed bag, but the latter half definitely saves it.

im so serious how do you guys suffer this guy singing right in your fucking ear with the mic halfway up his nose the whole album?

Ironically, this is the one album where his vocal stylings actually serve the type of music they're playing. But yeah, vocals have been shot for a while.

I have been enjoying music with bad singers my whole life.

Life only gets better when you realize there is a difference between a good singer and a good vocalist. Hope this helps.

We really wanna open up the “how many classic rock/metal bands have terrible vocals” can of worms?
And Matt is fine, dudes been at it for 25 years, I think he sounds great considering the mf needed throat surgery *twice*.

Is he a bad singer though? Was never my cup of tea until this, but I never thought he was a bad singer.

Jammed this today because of the thread bump and it’s still phenomenal

I'll never forget how my jaw dropped listening to this the first time. I love when bands get crazy and shake things up in the most unexpected way, and actually pull it off.

Ya Matt is not a bad singer, his only “bad” performances were STST (he was like 18) and City of Evil where he turned up the nasally shit to 11. Self titled through Hail to the King he sounds fantastic, then started to show some age on The Stage and this.
He’s always been a perfectly competent vocalist with really great moments sprinkled in there.

Anyone else think the interlude in the first song sounds like something out of a disney movie?
