One of the greatest albums of its kind. Although they have a handful of great records, this one is the pinnacle.

3rd favorite for me, but yeah, it absolutely rules

Koris bro I’m looking forward to giving this a proper listen. It’s been a few years since I spun it. It will be with my Sennheiser’s on, most likely tonight. I’m really looking forward to it as the mood suddenly hit. It’s also the first album of theirs that I ever heard and purchased. I heard The Grand Conjuration on the Music Choice channel of all platforms. I was hooked. But tonight, it goes down…..properly.

Oh nice! Grand Conjuration was my first song of theirs too, although my mom didn't let me buy Ghost Reveries initially because of the album's "evil" themes. So Watershed ended up being my first Opeth record eventually

Ghost Reveries is their best masterpiece imo. Ghost of Perdition is particularly perfect.

Ghosts of Perdition is contender for their best song
Album probably ranks 3rd or 4th for me though

Fair. Still Life is a very close second and the more I listen to My Arms, Your Hearse the higher it goes up too.

BWP/Still Life are 1 and 2 although I can never decide in which order
3/4 is a tough call between this and MAYH
But this is a 4.5, I love all 4

MAYH Was the first album with growls i got into, Ghost Reveries was the first release where I had grown to enjoy that stuff enough that it *really* clicked. Both are very special to me now.

Kinda bad album overall but Ghost of Perdition is such a sweet metal folk tune

this album is sick.

I used to think so too (I don't love it anymore) but objectively it's just a lesser Watershed
|
| |
v much their 10000 Days lol
also Baseline Full Moon is good? so good? how dare you have kept this from me? the great Communication shill was founded on deceit and i am maybe a little bit incensed
|
| |
Hmm I guess we could say that Full Moon, in a closed environment, is normie-great, it has two of her best songs, however, it's artistically deficient. Enjoy if you are typical /mu/ quirky geek who drunk dances to vacuous city pop and struggles to build a Japanese music database for exchaotic reasons. Communication is pretty much her only next-level product realistically.
Also, show more respect to Watershed, Opeth's real magnum opus, otherwise I'll start screaming.

"build a Japanese music database for exchaotic reasons"
honey this the real /mu/spiration and you know it. archival tourism is nice and cute and i also enjoy Haniwa-chan's sweet Quirk You Can Own? doodles, but i've read enough palaver to know that anyone unprepared to moonlight as a basic bitch in the culture they're taking personality supplements from is a stooge or worse a cowboy which one are you hm
