Has there ever been a case of an artist or band using fan-made art for the official release that anyone can think of? Or even anything else, like a fan-made music video or merchandise in general? Most fan-made stuff is crap but there's definitely cases where sometimes you wonder what the marketing's take on fan-made stuff is.
For example, that one fan-made video of Sail is by all means basically the official video for the song on youtube and in pop culture, but I'm not sure if it's been actually recognized at all by the label or by the band itself.
