Pretty much agreed, think In Limbo is probably the weakest here but 'weak' only comparatively so and it is very much baked into the flow and fabric of this album.
'Morning Bell' is essential.

the part where morning bell breaks out into the U2-ish guitars is really something, absolutely wonderful idea

I really need to give this one a full listen. I keep DNFing it every time I try putting it on

I can see this being very anticlimactic for someone listening for the first time in the shadow of the overwhelming, largely unanimous praise and acclaim it has received over the years. I felt the same about LOVELESS when I heard it for the first time.

Yeah, it just doesn't manage to grab my attention for some reason. Now might be the time to try it again though, considering I've been listening to Laughing Stock

I've also DNFed Loveless multiple times, though I do enjoy Only Shallow a ton

Treefingers / Optimistic / In Limbo is the run I was referring to for sure, I’ve often thought the latter 2 of those held up the rear here and that certainly hasn’t changed (just perhaps viewing them through a harsher lens now)
The National Anthem (and Idioteque) were always stunning to me and they’ve aged as well as anything here (unlike Pitchfork’s dodgy opinions! lol)

idioteque, everything in it's right place and motion picture soundtrack for me. three of the best songs ever made by man.

Motion Pic is (still) awesome too. I just don’t view it as a game-changer for my personal music journey like the other two. How to Disappear has held up better as the superior hush hush sadboi track… maybe ‘Everything’ has just worn out its welcome somewhat as I did love that previously

10. Treefingers [3.5] it's pretty nice

the intensity behind that last "I think you're craaaaaazy". and it's not just the harps and frills, it's the chord progression. wonderful closer for sure

Ugh. Okay quick attempt at re-ranking this.
S: The National Anthem, Idioteque
A: Motion Picture Soundtrack, Morning Bell
A-: How to Disappear
B: Kid A, Everything In Its Right Place
C: Treefingers
D: Optimistic, In Limbo
Idk something like this. That hurt 😢 but it’s not an all-round loss. There are still some clear choice cuts here

robertsona - Yeah, I mean it might warrant a 4.5 track rating too, it is the perfect closer for Kid A...but if it came up on shuffle out of the blue I can imagine 50% of the time it'd hit me as a skip :D

When I was younger I thought How to Disappear was the best song on here but as I got older I realized its actually Motion Picture Soundtrack.

When I was younger I definitely thought Idioteque was the best track…then after about five years that changed to Disappear.
Optimistic is definitely the one that’s grown on me the most, by quite a huge margin.
