Heard bits and pieces of the album. Not a huge fan of their new style but I thought the last album had some great songs. "Helena" is an excellent song with great mood and speed changes though I hate to admit it. And they had some other highlights on the album. However the little I heard of the new album didn't inspire me to seek out the rest. Maybe I should give it another chance but then again they are one of those bands people love to hate so maybe I'll leave it as is and spare myself the self guilt lol.

I am a little confused by the review. You say a lot of the album rips off old artists, but it is still exciting and a 3/5?

This album has two good tracks. The black parade and famous last words. I also think Heaven Help is one hell of a song but it doesn't appear on the actual album. Anyway, as far as this goes, it is one of the most boring album's I have ever owned. At first I tried liking a lot of the tracks... the more I listened, the more I seemed to be pressing the 'skip' button. Those are the only two (three) songs I don't skip. What the hell is up with the secret track??? I don't hate this band at all, but the more I listen, the more i have a greater distaste for them.

This band isn't good. I gave this a 3 for Famouse Last Words being a damn good song, the intro to The Black Parade, and concept idea. Otherwise this is pretty bad. Actually I think a 3 is too generous.

People fault Trivium for supposedly ripping off Metallica when they are regarded as on the greatest and most influential bands of all time. So how can you say MCR shouldn't be faulted?

MCR may wear their influences on their sleeves, but Trivium are blatantly derivative and borderline plagiarise their riffs. I'm not kidding, when I first heard Detonation I thought it was Metallica.



Now, I don't own The Black Parade (hence the lack of rating). But what songs I have heard off of it show an obvious Queen influence, but not to the point of plagiarism. They're not ripping of Queen anymore than Blind Guardian to my ears.

What the hell are you taking? Whatever it is, I suggest you come clean. Welcome To The Black Parade is just about the only song that's remotely "Queeny". The rest are simply awesome (I'm going to have to stop using that word or I'll start sounding American). Seriously, dude, try listening to Dead! and Teenagers, then we'll talk.

I found it good. It is very strong for a pop album as it delivers some good songs besides the singles.

I don't hate the band. I had the album for a few months and listened to it religiously for a few weeks, and then stopped.



Now, the only song appealing to me is Famous Last Words. I recently sold it to buy a Lynyrd Skynyrd album. I think it deserves a 3.25 now that i think about it. It shows that this band /could/ be good one day.
