This definitely grew on me the more I jammed it, and it is very replayable, overall I think it’s a really solid release. Having said that, part of me just wanted to listen to Close instead sometimes.

ugh their setlist is 30 minutes AND it's 5 songs off this and one each from Acts, Ruin, and Dawn. I know they're promoting the new album but it's a bummer when the band you're paying and traveling to see doesn't play anything from your checks notes four favorite albums.

damn, 30 minutes is crazy. I saw them once in 2012, just dug up the setlist:

Close to a World Below
Swarm of Terror
Majesty and Decay
Father, You're Not a Father
What They Bring
Into Everlasting Fire
A Glorious Epoch
Under the Supreme
Unholy Cult
No Jesus, No Beast
Dawn of Possession

btw they weren't headliners that evening either, it was Marduk

I mean it’s a pain in the dick playing the same albums so no wonder they’re switching it up, you gotta see it from their perspective too. Too much material to cover especially when you’re not the headliner

Yeah but I mean Immolation, fucking Immolation, supporting Marduk. That should not be.

I mean, I don't disagree at all, but Marduk is a relatively big band too. I get what you mean though lol.

Unfortunately thats just the way it goes. Only time I saw Immolation they supported Cattle Decap and I left during Cattle's set cuz Immolation was so hard to follow up

A band as big as immolation thats been around that long should definitely get at least 40-45 minutes unless it's like some big festival with a bunch of bands

Marduk was promoting the new album, so it kinda was their tour. but yea I actually had the feeling a lot of the people there were there for Immo exclusively because Marduk is more frequent in these parts. I was hanging out with Ross and Vigna while Marduk was playing haha, really cool guys.

It's Immo – Rotting Christ – Behemoth on the show this Friday and I'm prolly going to split after "Conquer All", which Behemoth is playing as the fourth song in their set. They're a spectacle but it's the openers I'm excited about.
