Then you are missing the point of their approach. There is nothing at all wrong with free flowing, disjointed song structure. In fact, besides being a huge part of improv genres like jazz and other genres such as post-rock, disjointed/atypical song structure is most interesting in prog/ metalcore. I guess you just don't get 'it', and some people just dont. Whatever. The riff after riff after riff part is the whole point, because most of the time, it flows well. That's the whole point and reason for their uniqueness
