i've had debates on here with people who think subjective opinions should be explicitly outlined as such. so you shouldn't say "this is the best album of the decade" but instead should say "this is my favourite album of the decade"
I can see what they mean but imo music is inherently subjective so you should take any statement of an album or band's quality as being subjective just by default

i think the disconnect comes when statements just read super judgmentally not just on the music but on the people consuming the music
it's one thing to simply say "this sucks" and it's a whole nother to say something like "this is an affront to good taste" which implies an indictment on every fan's taste if they like it, the latter just sorta feels like some dingbat walking into the room when you're watching a movie they hate and yelling "don't you know this sucks? stop having fun"
