That’s what I think every time I see this album. They really lobbed it up there

I do think if you didn't go through the brainwashing and cult tactics churches provably employ, some of the anti-religion stuff probably won't work as well for you.
That said, I did, and Christianity fucked me up pretty bad. I do like it when Underoath goes into this tbh.

Aaron needs to put down the fork and Spencer needs to remember how to write a good hook.

This new episode of the Downbeat podcast with Aaron is really interesting, especially the discussion around the current state of the music industry. Really recommended :

lol they fired their PR head or some shit. Yeah. That was the issue with this album. The marketing.

@kinetic would be hard for me to listen to someone so washed bitch about the industry lol

But honestly I can’t listen to them at all anymore. Music or otherwise. They’ve completely rubbed me the wrong way at this point. I don’t even listen to their back catalog anymore besides the occasional Disamb spin

"does he admit this album is awful or"
he said it's their best work yet and they're all better writers lol. i just finished watching that ep and it was actually really good, lots of cool info and aaron seems like a pretty chill guy. with that said i haven't listened to this band since define the great line lmao

I can’t understand it or wrap my brain around it. Like whether they actually believe that or are pushing content that sells. Even from a musician standpoint this stuff cannot be more fun to play than their old stuff

I think they really believe this is their best work and I think this is what they want to do, the problem is no one else thinks this. They're too far up their own asses to realize it.
Anyway, that interview just popped up on my algo and I was coming at it as someone who hates their last few records, but it ended being really good and Aaron didn't sound like the asshole I thought he would.

Finally got around to that episode and I gotta say... I went into it ready to clown the shit out of Aaron and left thinking he's one of the chillest guys ever lol
Great conversation that really shined a light on my feelings on the music industry nowadays. Will never be into their modern stuff but Aaron as a person gained some respect back from me

Good to hear that!! Will always be a huge shame what they have become though lol. They were one of my favorite bands for a very long time. The run of TOCS to Disambiguation is friggin all-time classic.

Absolutely bro. Really wish they had called it quits after Disam but I didn't think they could fall so far from grace
I remember the level of hype when On My Teeth first dropped and Erase Me ended up being... what it was.
