also dead is definitely a standard bm vocalist by today's standards but back in 90-91 I'd say he was pretty distinctive when he was doing vocals for them. id say a lot of his contemporaries and later bands stole his swag, style, and aped his whole image/personality. I feel not liking something just for the reason of not being into it but his style was pretty interesting imo he has a particular way of clearly enunciating his lyrics that I think's a bit unlike other vocalists

yeah leipzig doesn't sound bad because i don't like it, it sounds bad because it's a 25 year old bootleg live black metal recording, making live performances sound good on tape is already an uphill battle

leipzig sounds great compared to a lot of other black metal i've heard. that bass tone weighs a ton as it goes on.
gonna get to the whole les legions noirs circle soon, its on my checklist.

leipzig isn't a bootleg but there were bootlegs of it that the bm guys got their hands on before it officially came out. I think Fenriz says they heard those tapes and then immediately started writing Blaze
