Since coalesce more or less imploded again he might as well and that dude is a sick vocalist if they’re going for a more aggressive style

ingram is actually a pretty good one. hes not as dynamic as greg but it doesn't really matter because I'm sure the style would shift with him.

I’m not as familiar with Coalesce, like I’ve listened to all of their shit, but I don’t remember him doing any actual singing?
I’m sure he could pull off something like 30 Under 13 but not something like Sacrificial Participant or At All Times, yknow?
I think they really need to get someone that can do both which is why Greg was such a perfect frontman in the first place.

I saw someone say Tony Wolski from the Armed and I feel like he’d be good too, but again also not nearly as dynamic.

he's the only person that can do greg because greg is basically doing him

Yeah getting Mike would be the only thing I could see that would not drastically change the vibe.
Idk, I don’t see that happening either. The man’s gotta be pushing 60, the time to front a hardcore band came and passed.
Tho from some live footage I’ve seen it’s crazy how good he still sounds, I saw a long ass reel of Mr Bungle and the man’s still got it

considering everything that has happened since, it's a miracle greg was in dillinger for a decade

idk why I'm defaulting to blaming greg but he seems like less of an asshole than keith
maybe the etid dudes are just a bunch of sensitive nerds
but then that raises the question, wtf happened with dillinger
|
| |
I dont think anything bad happened or anyone was at fault just a shift in direction and Gregs probably got other projects he want to do.
Dillinger just hit their peak and decided it was enough, Greg and Ben just grew apart and ended up not getting on as well in the later years. Also during that period Greg was in a bad place mentally but post Dillinger and all his projects he seems to be in a much better place.
Overall theres no real trouble here, I'd say Greg wanted to move on or do other things rather than Better lovers being the main focus
And Greg addressed it saying they are still mates and theres no drama

No shot it’s Greg but a man can dream

Yeah its just the Calculating reunion shows. Gregs losing his shit on insta from people assuming theres drama lmfao

Speaking of Puciato and Patton, that EP Dillinger did with him is phenomenal. When Good Dogs do Bad Things is a top 3 DEP song for me.
|
| |
DEP touring with Dimitri, same thing they've been doing last few years. I would actually not be surprised if they were writing and ended up putting out a new album with Dimitri.
Hopefully this split was as amicable as it looks but I have to imagine the rest of the band have some frustration with not being able to build something longer term. Really hard to solidify an actual sound and identity with revolving frontmen.
Would like to see the broken bridges mended but I don't see it ever happening. Bad blood between brothers can run too deep

Re: Josh Scogin - "he's done cleans ever since luti kriss and he also did a stripped back solo project while he was in still in the chariot where he sings really well"
I know he's done "cleans" but listening to like 15 songs by '68, I heard a single one where he actually sang and his vocals weren't exactly soaring or dynamic like what Greg and Keith can do. I just listened to his side project too and the vocals are really tame. Can he sing something like Deliver Us From Life? I'm curious how much the band is going to prioritize straight up singing ability compared to screaming because I think Scogin would be perfect otherwise.

It's interesting that they departed with Greg because they were moving a different direction artistically. Does that mean the band is going to be heavier? Lighter? I can't really envision a vocalist who fits the music or attitude of the band better than Greg.
