I really like all the C&C stuff except for some of Hurry and the Harm
The first couple albums are just straight up folksie, him and an acoustic guitar songs, and then he starts using a full band on Little Hell and bringing a bluesy element to the music, which he explores even more on If I Should Go Before You
I dunno, I've always enjoyed it ever since I found out he was doing it
