feel like that'd bother me more in a live setting, in studio i enjoy it just fine but may not be the best for vocal health. then again that's what i'd say about the sonny era of from first to last, he was clearly straining but I still enjoyed it

Agreed to the nth degree with Durrzo, even down to the verbiage lol. Literally makes me squirm. Just sing in your range. The auto tune to it is gross too

one of my friends wasn't a huge fan at first but then remarked "who knew what got this album to click was for me to go to therapy and work on myself" when it clicked

i do specifically remember at first being at odds with my friend over the singing on the singles... just like with the singing on Burying Brightness they hated too

Cleans bring this down a lot. They work occasionally but sometimes just suck, like Easily Erased lol

i just don't like how it seems like a lot of metalcore fans want these bands to do away with singing entirely, like at that point literally just listen to deathcore

i mean metalcore didnt have them that much to begin with so the same logic can be flipped around and a core fan could easily just ask you why you dont listen to music more deliberately centered around singing instead, which there is a plethora of
but i mean like yeah erra >

metalcore took a nosedive around 2007 and never recovered, save for a select few acts

I mean I do listen to a lot of primarily singing based stuff too, but for me it's that metalcore usually has a certain energy to it that i like, but that, in some cases, singing helps break it up to make songs feel more distinct. I like the higher energy but also my brain craves more variance in sound as i age.
Like the more time passes the more I just dgaf what a band is labeled as or genre distinctions, i like music with what I feel to be good energy, variance between heavier and lighter moments, and often, good singing can add a different dynamic that wouldn't be there if it was full tilt aggro all the time.
quite frankly doom and sludge metal might be the closest I get to loving a fully heavy singing-free style because the slower moments crush me way more

WILL U BWEAK is the corniest sounding line of all time

and thats fine venin. there will always be bands that blend the two, as there will always be bands that do one or the other. the point is more so that to make that a problem with fans of the style itself for wanting to stick more to its fundamentals is going to be a losing battle since their preferences are just as valid as yours
