Yeah it's the Seer part 2 essentially. Good stuff.

I'm still on The Healer. Stylistically it feels very much like The Seer, but it's also starting to drag a bit already just within this opening track. I hope there are some cool twists and freaky moments like on The Seer.
The Beggar was such a strong album, so The Seer comparisons aside, it'll be tough to even top that LP.

Birthing is best swans since 2016 imo. So good.

> How’s the new album
No surprises, the same as last few - overly long, overly repetitious, poser to the point of leaving meaning but still has its moments of glory.
What a shit take lmao what does “poser to the point of leaving meaning” even mean
You and tundra should be buddies

Don't worry Sowing, there's multiple wtf moments lol

I don't think that's a shit take. I feel a lot of Swans albums are overlong and/or repetitious. Jury is still out on this one as far as I'm concerned; I'm only on the second track and it's starting to get really good.

Birthing title track is stunning wow

Poser means pretentious and it is, not in a bad way maybe but it's hard to deny.
To the point of leaving meaning is a reference to the album name obviously, as in "to the point of losing focus and dragging without reason".
It's better than last few though, but would only win if half of runtime is amputated, amputation cures you know.

I might need to spin it again, but I'm more than halfway through and think that, while good, it pales in comparison to both The Seer and The Beggar. There are some great moments, but also lots of moments where I lose interest completely.

Nah tbh birthing is sending me ego death city here i come
|

It is substantially better than LEAVING MEANING and THE BEGGAR but nowhere close to as good as THE SEER, TO BE KIND, or even THE GLOWING MAN.

Birthing doesn’t feel as overlong as The Glowing Man to me. Feels pretty breezy tbh

The Glowing Man is still my favorite Swans. Every second on that record is calculated.
