Yes Homme has always had major Bowie influence on his singing.

Listening to this just makes me yearn even more for a TCV follow-up. The first one was excellent and at this point preferable to half of the main QotSA albums.

He’s not gonna magically make a good tcv album at this stage of his career either

Well maybe John Paul and Dave Grohls contributions would help. I’d imagine having a member of Led Zeppelin involved would make everyone else step up their game too.

so rather than watching him carry that torch, we are now phoning in zeppelin to save homme from a middle aged slump
clutching at straws and pulling out fistfuls of irony right here

Never understood the fuss with tcv. Always wanted to like the band coz of who’s in it, but the album is dull af

Yeah. Anyway, these guys should probably just call it a day instead of churning out declining / phoned in material. They won’t and honestly that’s understandable because money...

Muse, Biffy & Mastodon are doing alright for themselves, may as well add a few more childhood heroes to the pile of disappointments

'bruh demon biffy and mastodon both turned in career highlights on their latest albums'

Not sure I agree about Mastodon but the latest Biffy album is a legit great album for sure, almost as good as their best (Puzzle) imo.

Listened to this as my first QOTSA album from back to front and this guys voice halfway bored me to death. Especially these higher register moments felt so non-distinguishable that it really flipped over into uncharismatic territory for this kind of stuff.

I think this just like the QOTSA version of Hushed and Grim by Mastodon actually

Lots of 6-8/10 tracks, really solid considering how long they’ve been going but there are no ‘I Appear Missing’ or ‘No One Knows’ 10/10s just like Mastodon had no ‘Capillarian Crest’ or ‘Aqua Dementia’ quality tracks

That would be terrible for optics
