what is aren lerner an anagram of and is it The debut album from the sad girl trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus might not be anywhere near as strong as their solo outings but is still a strong showing of what their brand of sadcore can sound like when done well. There really is nothing special about the record other than the names of those who made it, but it does have some really tracks like the indie rock ragger of ?$20? and ?Not Strong Enough?, plus the quintessential sadcore sounds of ?Revolution 0?, ?We?re In Love?, etc. the biggest problem is that many of the songs are solo performances in which they all sound like b-sides from their last albums so it?s hard to find much from the trio coming together.

This sucks. Funny to see all the virgins here diss Metallica then turn around and listen to this! LMAO

i don't believe the difference between a 5 and 4.7 is wide enough to substantiate cowardice, but if we're getting into the specific territory of decimal increments and optics, boi do i have reams in store for you
|
| |
Bruh you’ll literally use .1 increments just to rise above the crowd

I’m honestly disappointed in this conversation I love you to bits Johnny but I didn’t think this would be a contentious point of criticism, I thought you were very self-aware about your optics and pretentiousness, they are part of your charm
|
| |
You have a very specific identity and form of self presentation on this site and you carefully curate that image with your ratings/opinions and your avatars and the way you write etc. there is nothing wrong with it, you wouldn’t be you without it. Everyone does this to an extent. But I really don’t think that tec is guilty of rating music for optics compared to other people on here. If we were talking about his film opinions that might be different
|
| |
I would almost argue that it’s near impossible to NOT rate with optics as one (of many of course) components that subconsciously influence. Your music opinions/taste are part of your identity after all.

i think you just chose to believe johnny is pretentious because of how horrifying the idea of him genuinely being that way is
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0 | Sound Off
but also I think you’re wrong about rating for optics being unavoidable. that’s a you thing, most people don’t do that
|
| |
Colton I don't believe you if you say you have never rated or checked anything on sput with a hint of optical reasons.
|

^^^yep. Conscious or not.

I'm curious what you even mean by that. you think people go "oh people are gonna think I'm cooler if I give this a high rating so I'll rate it highly even though I don't like it that much" or vice versa? lol
|
| |
Also what you wrote about Johnny being pretentious doesn't make sense to me. Did you mean ironically pretentious?
|
| |
Colton peep Sam the samba man
|

@colton Not quite. I can elaborate in detail later if you’d like but it’ll probably be a Tl;dr and I’m at work so I can’t commit to big paragraph times right this second
