I was listening to Anti-Hero earlier because of this discussion and it fermented my feelings that this album is bad

Not mad on the song at all, really. Music video didn't help either. I'm probably on the same boat as you. Just don't like this project personally.

I kind of like this one the same way I like 1989: it's a perfect autumn album to put in background while working. Nothing special, all samey, pretty sounds, perfectly inoffensive.

Real talk this sounds exactly like The Weeknd’s last album with TS singing over it. Less obnoxious than she normally is to me but still super corny lyrically

What? This sounds nothing like that by the numbers ass synth/dance pop album??

hearing a song from this on the radio rn, sounds like a shitty ripoff of Royals

I was LITERALLY just talking with my wife about songs on this album being Lorde ripoffs.
I’m lowering this shit it’s terrible. I clowned on Reputation but that record shits all over this.

Yeah this does sound like older Lorde, and yeah, reputation is just way better sadly

I'll rate the 13 standard tracks 2.5/5. It's not for me. I've been listening to it 7 days straight and it only gets worse for each of my listen. However, I love Midnight Rain, Maroon, Sweet Nothing.
The last 7 tracks are better to be part of the standard tracks. The Great War should be in the standard tracks, to be honest. It is the only song that I love at first listen. I love Midnight Rain at first listen, though I feel like it ended abruptly.

wonder if artists like Taylor and Carly are purposely putting good songs as bonus tracks to incentivize people listening to the whole album from beginning to end and driving up streaming numbers

Album Rating: 1.5
No it’s so people purchase the standard album in advance and then are forced to purchase the additional tracks because they are the actual meat of the projects
|
| |
but it’s all free vult… 99% of Taylor’s listeners are streaming her stuff
|
| |
Album Rating: 1.5
Yeah you have no source for that. People still pay for music, especially Taylor stans.
Plus if 99% of her listeners account for the 69M monthly listeners on spotify, that’s still 690k people in that other 1%.
|
| |
I pulled the 99% number out of my ass but surely we can all agree the vast majority of Taylor listeners (or listeners of any big artist) are streaming nowadays, that's just common knowledge

I wonder how much longer until the Louvre has a female wrestling exhibit. It’s one of the artifacts we’ll leave the future!

Didn't tswift fans (including me) make this record the highest selling vinyl record since before they started tracking those types of sales (1991.)
|
| |
sure but the overwhelming majority of listens have still been via streaming. probably a lot of people like me who buy records and then never even open them or listen to them
