I understand that mars their lane is respectable and the skill they have as a band is great for sure and for the people that love this great theres alot to be had but at the end of the day it's a pretty acquired taste. Theres not alot of fun to be had here I dont think this is a album the average metal fan can just put on anytime or any setting and get into it. At the end of the day i think again half the people are rating this so high because the fact that it is not your average black or death metal record. But if you love it you love it I get it

I'd imagine this isn't for the traditional metal fan at all, no. But you could classify a lot of metal records that are off the beaten path in that category, and that doesn't mean that they're bad, they're just more suited for a one-on-one listening session where you can just ingest all the details.
I find this record fun in its own special way. How winding and insane it becomes/feels is pure ear candy to me. I love how they toy around with shit and just make my brain feel like it's melting, kinda in the same way that technical metalcore releases can do.
But yeah love what you love [2] we vibe to our own vibes my man.

Something like the new Mamaleek I can wrap my head around, it's relentlessly bleak, misanthropic, etc, which is certainly not unique to the genre. Whatever vibe this has is throwing me for a loop though.
