I don’t see this as vastly inferior, it’s another new direction that’s great on its own even if not all of it works. Anima is superior tho and if Thom keeps making solo material like that and the Suspiria soundtrack, and Jonny Greenwood makes more scores like Phantom Thread, that’d be really great.

yeah Anima and TKOL stand above everything the collective has done post-Rainbows (and a lot of their earlier material also) and it isn’t close for me
I’d rather Thom concentrate on the solo stuff too rather than this RH-lite packaged as an ‘reinvention’ (or whatever this was supposed to be).
