"maybe its because they've taken influence from a variety of different bands to create their own sound? Just like any other band?"
This is all that needs to be said lol, idk why people are clutching this topic so hard.

Atm this is a tier bellow Empty Black for me.... but still I can't say I'm disappointed, even if EB is their peak I do trust this band to keep putting out fantastic albums and I'm enjoying this one thoroughly

These guys are so damn consistent. And 100% agreed with Garth- Not trying to drum up a comparison again, but hell ETID usually has a least a few tracks that I don’t care much for on each album, and most people let that slide cuz they’re still great
9/10 or 10/10 of the songs on this album are all top tier quality and it’s obvious that a shit ton of work went into this this album. The expectations were ridiculously high and yet they still exceeded them for a lot of us. They doubled down on the “heavy” part of their sound while also being far more skilled/technical with the instrumentation/vocals, which is awesome imo

This is some of the best guitar work I’ve heard on an album in quite a while. The dude can write something catchy ass riffs, and it’s not mindless noodling around on the fretboard lol

The more I've jammed it the more solid it is, and I'm happy with my 4 and with the album. Definitely does not touch Empty Black for me, but damn what a good album (almost said sophomore lol I always forget about that debut)

Listened to this all weekend. Not a bad song on here, but I think EB has higher highs. Feeling like EB is a 4.5 and this is a solid 4. But who knows, maybe a few months down the line it'll grow. Overall definitely not upset with this though, hell of an effort.

"ehhh yeah maybe djent is the wrong term, more like amity affliction / the word alive generi-core"
yeah kinda, I expected this to sound somewhere between Counterparts and Northlane, and instead I got somewhere between Good Tiger and He is Legend

If so, lets take a step outside.

I pissed off enough people on the last Counterparts album I bothered to listen to, let's not besmirch a Greyhaven thread with that energy
