KISS Dynasty. You're getting drunk. Not smoking pot or dropping acid. Lol.

I am convinced that everyone who hates Obituary has never done any physical activity in their lives.

If you listen to Cause of Death and don't want to lift, you are insta lame.

Agreed, D&Q have a similar sound to Immo. And from what I recall, Dead Congregation is also similar. Only two albums and both are amazing so take your pick

Whoa. I don't get the modern age I guess. When I read that this album is amazing and the whole Deicide ist shit, I find it hard to believe that its not written for attention.

First 4 Deicide albums are DM classics, after that they had ups and downs, but still are a powerhouse. Benton is a jerk, but he's an important figure. The same with Obituary. I'm not a huge fan but I recognize that it's important and I respect them for their own style and the ability to endure through the years staying in a good form.

Talking Benton - I'd spin Dechristianize or Icons of Evil over this new Immo every time.

I'd spin this over any Deicide or Obituary ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Same here, but I think this album is getting a tad oversold right now.

Maybe. It's an upper-mid Immo album that addressed the overproduction complaints of the previous decade. The reception makes sense to me.

Well, Dechristianize and Icons aren't Deicide, so you might wanna check it out then.

And I'm truly not impressed with the sound on this one. It sounds like every other generic modern DM. This is the standard now, nothing to be impressed about.

I also don't get how the drum sound is amazing. Dude, all new releases sound as good. The performance is top class, right up there with the best, but the sound is generic.

Like what's outlandish about that point? You reviewed the almost unlistenable piece of crap Venom Prison lately. That rec is piece of shit, but it doesn't sound any worse then this, and drums certainly don't sound worse, but the performances are from other worlds.

just isolating 'best' and 'generic' in the same sentence. and nothing I rate higher than a 2.5 is unlistenable - try again : ]

That's why I wrote almost unlistenable.

Separating sound from performance and music is one of the most important things for me. I don't care about the sound if I don't like the music and performance. And obsessing about sound in metal is ridiculous, it's never been the point.

Deathcrush sounds like shit out of whale's ass but it will always be objectively more important, and for many arguably even subjectively better then this Immo album. And I like that about metal.

This is a music website with open accounts, obsessing/arguing about sounds is kind of what we do here?

The only one obsessing is you. People said they like this album's sound in comparison to its noticeably cleaner predecessors, with emphasis on the drums which aren't pre-sampled and quantized to hell and back like Kingdom's were. idk why you're so bent out of shape over this.

So yeah, production is important, else you'd be satisfied listening to midi files.

Of course everyone's allowed to obsess about anything they want.

I simply tell you my perspective. Which with phrases like "for me" and " I don't care" I thought I made clear. I didn't know I need to start every sentence with "imo" so that every one knows I state my opinion and not facts. But alas it is how it is nowadays. Fighting against other's opinions is easier then having your own.
