Didn't care for the debut but the anti-hype here makes me wanna check. There's no way this is a 1 lol

At first i was going to listen to this so i can give it straight 1.5/2.0, but fuc* me this is instant classic, serious contender for AOTY.

FTFT remains a 1/5 from me though. What's the opposite of sophomore slump?

Quite liked this. They actually wrote songs this time.

gonna review this cos I *hated* their debut album so much but I feel like what I've heard so far from this has both justified how much I hated this album and also proved my point about how they are capable of so much better.

would call that a 30-min trio tbqh
esp since Blade song is the best of the three and possibly the album

yeah just realised the last 3 are like 30 mins, pretty much. Damn.

This is gonna take some squeezing with all my other to-dos... I was kind of half-hoping for an easy avoid, but the hype is intensifying.

What the hell does a BCNR album that Pone thinks is actually okay sound like? This alone dictates a closer look, because my imagination has nothing.

it is kitsch and has cheesy climaxes and elaborate arrangements that play straightforward hooks at different frequencies
definite pon bait

Yeule was on my watchlist but that run-time, blimey...

and to think you scoffed at my YAYA KIM rec which is rather brief in comparison, lol

A little unrelated, I live nearby the Black Country New Road (Black Country is actually an area within the UK if you didn't know). I didn't really enjoy the first album. Will definitely be giving this a try because I find these guys charming, and have heaps of potential!

I did wonder. Well I assumed their name did actually refer to the 'Black Country' but wasn't sure if 'New Road' was talking about an actual road, because presumably there's a bloody ton of roads called 'New Road', I mean there's one right near where I live (which is not anywhere near the Black Country btw).
