This surprised me a lot. I was not a fan of this man's earlier work but this one definitely clicked with me. Gave me early Draugnim vibes, which is awesome!

Not much of a black metal listener, but this is truly fantastic. It's super accessible even for a new listener like me.

I thought this might go even higher on our staff list, but the late release might have delayed the reception a bit. Still, this deserves to be on any site's year-end list, as long as they have some sort of metal constituency.

it's fine if it doesn't - the emotional response from people has been enough for me to know that the work that went into this album was 100% worth it. it was an immensely taxing record to put myself through but it's been so rewarding to see what's happened over the last fortnight.

Well, he said his influences are three of my all time favorite bands (Summoning, Moonsorrow and Mourning Beloveth) so, I think I will like this album a lot. Going to spend some time with it on the drive to work the next few days.

Yeah this is impressive stuff, pretty immediately engrossing for the style. I dig the melodies. Still digesting it fully but after a couple of spins I think we certainly have a winner here.



Well done Noctus! Pleased that this is getting the attention it deserves after all the hard work you put in.

Just checked out Chasmal Fires, which was fantastic. Second track starting now... I am a huge Moonsorrow fan, so this is right up my alley.
