@ghandi, it was earlier this morning/yesterday but I changed my votes for it and maybe some other ppl did too. Math rock was NOT there yesterday.

punk doesn't exist tho. it is dead!
|
| |
Gami Gang basically revived punk, thereby eradicating post punk in the process. 2021 is a beautiful year
|
| |
Then can punk die again so post punk can come back

Crass said punk is dead in 1978 so uh yeah
|
| |
Punk's been dead since the beginning but that never stopped any of the greats
|
| |
how pitchfork managed to get this one right while sputnikers hate on it is beyond me
|
| |
if you also factor in the number of ratings, this is the highest rated album on RYM in a long time. and RYM is probably the most relevant indicator of the general consensus on an album (among music nerds anyway)

Maybe it's Pitchfork's idea of a good prog album
That's worrying tbh
|
| |
As a music critic I will say music critics just really don't know shit
Especially p4k critics if I'm being brutally honest
|
| |
I would like to say RYM doesn't know shit but when this has 6000 ratings on there compared to 139 on here that would just be arrogant
|
| |
kompsy: yeah pitchfork are among the worst, which is why i'm baffled that they got this one right on the money
|
| |
yeah it's safe to say rym is a better indicator of the overall consensus of an album than sputnik. pretty irrefutable tbh
|
| |
Was really hoping we could troll this album together Gyro but alas

Nah we’re far superior tbh, quality > quantity.
RYMers are a bunch of dweebs, am I right? Baseline explained this already.
|
| |
Nothing here sticks like that legendary porpoise
|
| |
yeah gyro especially when their algorithm mitigates the impact of troll ratings/inflated ratings from people who make an account just to 5 something

Both Sput and RYM have a culture to them that lead to bias
Most accurate scores are internet-wide aggregates :D
|
| |
Y'all ever go on musicboard? It's a bit like zoomer RYM, weird stuff
