The worst offender is The Black Parade being a 3.84/5 there. Christ, the average ratings on this site are way higher, and we're the one with roots in 2000s pop punk/emo fandom, and it's still lower here!

There are a few albums that RYM is rating higher than here these days — Black Rider by Tom Waits among them. Intensely strange, given that Sputnik generally overrates releases by like .5 compared to rym. Interesting to see the tables of elitism turn; where once RYM was undeniably more pole up the ass pretentious than the populist and base Sputnik, I think that’s shifted in the last five years.

Nurture is one of the best releases of its year; such a deeply personal cathartic celebration of an album. Sputnik average is too low if anything.

I like all 3 so far. Russian Roulette and Cheerleader best. There is something very honest and unique about Porter's work over the last 2 albums which I find highly endearing.

Maybe I'm the one of the only ones on Sput really hyped for the 26th but I have absurdly high expectations for Smile. I've loved all 4 singles so far.

I'm really excited - I really liked the first three singles and have been resisting listening to the fourth since we're so close to the album release. I think Smile is gonna be really good
