Latest single is probably my favorite so far but it sounds like a million other songs they've ever written

oh no :'/
waiting until the album at this point but really thought Chunker/Under The Floor especially had a good new energy to them. was really hoping that trend would continue

as much as i love these guys/want them to succeed i do think it's only a matter of time til we're all calling them out for releasing new shit almost yearly at this point with little growth, if any, between releases.

Not me. I don’t need every single band to re-invent themselves constantly.

Agreed. he probably doesn't do it anymore but seeing Donovan drumming and singing OW Splidao was absolutely insane

They play my city a lot.
He plays drums for some songs still, usually like three or four in the middle of the set.

okay so the first half of DIT is the poppiest HTS has sounded since Culture Scars while In My Dream to the end is some of the most proggy (in sound) lotta cool guitar effects here.
def their least heavy and the chaos feels a bit too controlled when it is in place buuuuuuuut really like this one. feels a bit bulkier than NAF in scope which I appreciate.

quick aside, feel like I have to finally bump NAF. it's a bit too trimmed but shit definitely still hits, especially the first 4 tracks.
back to DIT again, as much as I love my pop HTS (60-Min Session Blocks and the intro track were fantastic), the 2nd half is where I'd much prefer the overall direction of this to have gone. probably the freshest sound they've achieved since Wake. we'll see how this stacks up with more listens, definitely couldn't tell you now but yeah, it's Hail The Fucking Sun.

ya'll are gonna shit yourselves for Tithe, wish some of that heaviness was a bit scattered across the album but oh well. also can finally listen to Under The Floor again and holy shit this is incredible. probably the best representative for the 2nd half so I see why it's a single but it shouldn't have been a single until after the release :P

Casually listened through the new album once. Casually enjoying it. At least a 3.5 off the bat, opportunity to grow. Gotta pay more attention.
With that said, it didnt strike me as "their most inventive release since Wake". Felt very in the vein of what they have been doing.
