I’m four songs in, when does this get good?

Just kidding, it’ll probably take me three years to appreciate like Black Mile, but I’m not really feeling this.

Man these guys are so talented, the sound design here is absolutely gorgeous. Feels like a huge departure from their earlier LPs which might alienate some fans. Almost feels more like a Radiohead LP in moments

Not loving Inaudible and Annie as much as maybe others, but AoD through Bed Head is quite the 3 track run

I'm glad you enjoy it so much Keynote! Not sure about Radiohead, although I get where you're coming from with the folky smoothness of A Moon Shaped Pool. The two albums that immediately came to mind for me personally were Fleet Foxes' Shore for its glistening mainstream sound, and also Brand New’s Science Fiction for all the lyrical/thematic/melodic callbacks.

SF?

anyway, digging this. The only issue here is myself, it lacks a little darkness, its too nice(?).

With The Internet it ends in really high note imo.

I think that's the ballsiest and best part of this record, as "grand" as the production and the concept of this record, whatever it may be, is - the most ambitious and impressive aspect of this record is how it seamlessly flows into something that's almost gentle in its second half. What major rock band markets what seems to be a dark-heavy record, and then stacks multiple ballads together for the majority of it? But Hull & Co is confident enough to embrace it fully and let it work. I love that about this record.

@Fishing that just got me so hyped for this. I could use some "nice" or "happier" tunes from a favorite band like this. I am 2 tracks in on this and it is absolutely beautiful and "smooth" is probably a best description for it so far.
