"scientifically engineered to get a 4 on sput" - therefore, as a sputuser I feel slightly offended and won't love it XD.
I have hot news tho - most, if not all bands, do not think of sput for one fraction of a second.

Meg from Couch Slut has a sput account, so clearly there’s one band that acknowledges the existence of sput

I misread that as Sput accent and was very deeply confused and intrigued for a hot minute

Remember that time jari from wintersun joined sputnik?

“Sometimes when you’ve heard something before, you like it - and then sometimes you want to hear it again.“
I totally get this, there’s a ton of death metal i love that very much that is very much indebted to the classics, it’s just that the stuff this is inspired by is stuff I don’t really listened to that often

Jari was on sput lmao??

In terms of rip-off territory this one isn’t even as egregious an offender as Asheran, but I enjoy Asheran much more.

Well I could see that. I still think Asheran hold some sort of torch on the sludgier mastodon prog takes - there aren't many bands nowadays doing that. This one is settling on the trend of many great bands nowadays. The first one was, in my opinion, although not entirely original, much more needed to be kept on doing. This is not without saying this one is very well done and personally very fulfilling.
btw Inoc (nice pretty little bump there ;))

Someone made an account claiming to be Jari from wintersun. Who knows if it was really him.

I recall a member of CHON making an account on sputnik a while ago too.

Agreed with Inoc so far - they may have found their sound here, yet I find myself preferring the debut. Time will tell.

Yeah DDD that 3.0 felt pretty lame even just accounting for Court of the Matriarch and Si-XIV. I really do enjoy this but I can’t shake the feeling that it would’ve been amazing with a few different production-related decisions.

what would you have liked to see improved on the production?

I truly don’t know enough about how recorded sounds are processed to comment on any specifics. What I can say is that the entire album has kind of a same-y overall sound and I don’t feel the punch of the highs close to as much as on Asheran. It is possibly not a coincidence that a CoL dude mixed this album because those guys are huge offenders of what I’m trying to describe. It’s like a homogenous album-spanning sound that doesn’t breath organically, for my individual tastes.

I also laugh at how the site ignores how close to some Maynard's project Mleccha sounds..I say this cause I can't exactly pin if its Tool or APC (more inclined to the latter). As if these kind of pov's brings the album bad publicity XD. There's one track towards the end of Asheran that also does this. Love them both.

Agreed. And tks for the PB. Will make sure to make that Mleccha observation on further pages (sput keeps ignoring it) XD

Mleccha oozes apc/the contortionist (clairvoyant) vibes. I’m with ya.
