There's still a few dumb ones on the deluxe edition bonus disc. A very strong 8/10 rated full length album could be made from the 4-5 best songs on each disc.

The only memorable song right now is Ghost. And that's even kinda basely. I like the oooOOoooOO-oooOOoooooO.

dude looks like he's about to lecture me about something "insensitive" I said in the class zoom meeting.

I guess I'm gonna skip this one. I didn't think I was going to say this about a Steven Wilson project, but this doens't sound appealing at all...
Really bizarre to see this album, which probably is one of the worst he has done, climb to the top of the charts in so many countries. The power of marketing I guess (have you seen the billboards?)

12 Things I Forgot, Man of the People, and Count of Unease are worth hearing.

I actually really like this album. I like the flow between the tracks, his attempts at poppy trip hop vibes, all the falsetto, the ambience. I went in expecting to not like it after hearing personal shopper, but on first listen of the album as a whole it grabbed me and now i'm singing these melodies around the house. My enthusiasm for it might fade but only time will tell.

@Talons: Yeah, 12 Things I Forgot is definitely becoming my favorite song here. Beautiful little pop song

Count of Unease is pretty nice... it's like a more ambient and sprawling version of Lullaby off the first Blackfield album

12 things i forgot is the most Blackfield sounding song.
I think Count of Unease has more earlier PT leanings rather than BF.
I really wish Move like A Fever had been on the album. Love the vibe on it, sort of like 'the 78.'

"one of the greatest tragedies of the 21st century is that rock music- particularly the guitar - hasn't really managed to reinvent itself"
the smartest thing the man has ever said. someone just needs to inform him that he's not gonna be the one to do it.

like, he's right, but considering he's made a 30 year career out of rewriting pink floyd songs and remastering 60s dinosaur prog records, i can't see what exactly it is he proposes people do about it

the future bites, but does the future slaps?

Not really.
I feel like Follower was an attempt to walk in the footsteps of People Who Eat Darkness (the latter of which did slap), but it just feels lethargic in comparison.
Steven also needs to stop singing in falsetto.
