They're really neutral and tbh very boring but somehow fits this surprisingly well. I'm just gonna imagine it brings out the music more and pretend that's a reasonable answer

So can we tag this as "contemporary prog"?

Even though it sounds like a massive oxymoron to me.

It is contemporary, so we can use that term for this atm.

Did they ever confirm that Diego left the band?

It was a big rumor floating around but I think the band has since tried to dismiss them

I really wished the chorus of Prosthetic was better, because the instumental fucking slaps

I really like that Haken releases instrumentals of all their tracks. Crazier songs like Veil, despite Ross' vocals bring great on them, still have a great flow bc of the rest of the band's immense talent.

An instrumental version of this might rule tbh

my problem with listening to the instrumental is I can always hear Ross's vocals on top of it cause I'm used to them so much... kind of a bummer tbh

Bar a couple of songs on this, the vocals definitely improve the music tho

I'm curious about Prosthetic and Only Stars as instrumental versions though

I think the vocals go well with the band. They aren't spectacular, but they don't get in the way of the instrumentation and I think that's how they need to function. Instrumental versions rule but I am too used to having vocals there

I mean you guys say vocals go well with the band because... well they are in the band and its all you can get, a good vocalist would make this band better for sure , I mean is not horrid but I think vocals are bland and boring beyond oblivion, instrumental wise is fun but gets old fast and I feel nothing coming out of the music or the lyrics so yeah lets keep at that for me, a benevolent 3.

But the most memorable parts of this album are the melodies on Carousel and Canary Yellow?? If anything, i struggle to remember the instrumental parts more, which is similar to how i feel about Tesseract

Wouldn't be surprised about Diego. Pretty sure the last periphery album had tracks with more keys on them than some of the songs here.

I'm gonna agree awith Choccy because the highlights of this are probably the vocal melodies, I recognize hes not amazing though. I dig some of the lyrics and melodies though.
