Well to be fair Gorguts does fit that 'thinking man's metal' tag. I don't remember if it was a guy from Pelican or other Post-Metal band who said it but that tag suits a lot of metal acts because of their changing, slow-mid paced tempo combined with intricate melodies and complex songwritings. I definitely lean towads that kind of pensive state inducing metal

Sanity will be eroded until morale improves.

The erosion of sanity will result in defeated sanity, which will eventually lead most of us to death, the rest eventually succumbing to cerebral rot or pestilence. Then and only then will artificial brains inherit the earth!

It has been said ad nauseam, but all shall perish. Each atrocity bears a new neurosis until everyone goes meshuggah. The few sane human remains will be beheaded by way of bolt thrower, drawn and quartered in an act of malignancy or decapitated by a monstrosity summoned via incantation. The autopsy of the dismembered, mangled torsos - some of them still attached to legs crushed in a brodequin - will later reveal that their gorguts were psycroptic.

oh, you went wild and included a broader selection! Bravo

(admittedly I have no idea what meshuggah actually means)

It's derived from the Hebrew term 'meshuga' (often 'meshugge' in Yiddish) = crazy, insane.
