the shit tilian does is so insane, we've become desensitized to it i think

most men have great difficulty hitting the tenor high C with ease, even a lot of tenors

then you've got tilian just belting F5s like it's nothing, he makes it look effortless

but as a songwriter he's gotten progressively more annoying and lazy since at least IG, he hasn't written a good hook in forever

nah man after listening to of machines a lot last summer i got turned off dylan anderson hard, the guy's technique (even in the studio) is so bad and he has to strain so hard to hit those notes

it's painful to listen to, if OM lasted longer he would've blown out his voice like the northlane guy

dylan anderson's vocals sound way more raw than tillian's, and i think rawness is what DGD is severely lacking right now. it is why Kurt is so beloved because while he isnt the greatest singer, his rawness and songwriting fit his style.

Bloodsucker, Nothing Shameful, Gospel Burnout, Flash, Lyrics Lie, Parody Catharsis etc. The hooks there are all still pretty great.

They certainly surpass the poop we got to hear on NASA, Strawberry Swisher 1 and Tree Village.

some of his real best hooks these days are on his solo albums. Cocky is infectious as hell

that dylan anderson "rawness" was literal, he was trashing his vocal cords

i would not be opposed to that in the slightest. they are so overtly pop now which was fine but even an album more along the lines of Acceptance Speech would be so refreshing right now.
